Alternative opportunities
- Plastic bags: use reusable bags. Save grocery store bags to line small trash cans or to recycle at the grocery store (they usually have a big bin for them, but they must be clean, dry and empty.).
- Batteries: bring them to a store that recycles (like Batteries Plus or Ikea) or to Facilities Management.
- Lightbulbs: put incandescents in the trash. Bring CFLs to a store that recycles them (like Ikea) or to Facilities Management.
- Electronics: The Montgomery County Solid Waste District accepts broken electronics. Check their website for times, dates, and details.
- Ink and Toner: Bring your cartridges to an office supply retailer with a recycling program, like Staples. Or, call the sustainability office to request a pick up.
